Help please... Starview is doing my head in
I have previously accessed the menu and set to auto for the keys
Due to other issues I have factory reset

I now cannot access the hidden menu
1570 from main menu has never worked
I go to Parental menu, at the point where you enter old PIN I press "i" then 2004, but nothing...

I am at v4.500 firmware, and have tried power off/on, reflashing firmware, reformatting HDD... all to no avail

    Any advice?

    Thanks

Menu > factory setting > code is 1668 press ok then turn box off
wait 1 min then turn back on
then press ok to the language > Select English > then into installation
put your provider in there N*L etc . ok down to auto scan let it finish doing the scan do not stop if you see some come up as failed that is not a problem
just let it carry on when it has found all the channels exit out back to menu press 1570 down to EMU and turn that ON ,
exit exit exit and you should be sorted , let me know how you get on

Hi, thanks for the advice, after posting I continued trying and found that info+2007 worked from parental menu
Have already factory reset, rescanned etc

So, this problem solved, but I wonder why my PVR doesn't work like others...with 1570 from main menu for example

Also still having lots of HDD and recording problems, tried all advice from forums etc.

Wondering if my unit needs to be returned...

    cheers

    Hi nick32
I have a starview pvr with the latest software from this site v4.5 6th July and don't have any problems, I think you will find that 1570 is for the non pvr box because it does nothing on mine when I try it. what are you main hdd/record problems, as I don't have any?

When I can get a recording, most do not play (best I have had is a couple of 30 min programs)
I get a please wait (or similar) message with black screen and box freezes

Also, if I have to power the box off and on it doesn't recognise the HDD. I have to leave it off for 30 mins + to solve this
I have tried samsung and Maxtor drives, both brand new and working ok for other users in the forums.

Just tried a manual record (i.e. just press the record button)
left it to run for 30 mins (could hear the HDD clicking faintly so assume it was recording, the red dot showed progress on screen), stopped recording and the HDD is still empty...

    @nick32
    Hi
It seems to me you have done all possible, ie re format drives and reflash. Might be worth downloading firmware again in case of corruption and even trying the previous release firmware for the pvr, think it was v4.0. Unless sc0user is about and can add anything. May be a return to seller is needed.
