Help!.. I have figured out just about every aspect of encoding, yet when I try to play back SVCD's on my PC, it comes out upside down.. these very same SVCD's play fine in stand alone DVD players. Any suggestions?

Sometimes, some programs and some MPEG-2 codecs do this, I've heard this happening several times. Only thing I can suggest is that you try and install WinDVD 4 and use it for SVCD playback (or WMP after you've installed WinDVD4 as it should override other MPEG-2 codecs from the system and use its own as a default even when played with WMP6.4).
