Hi, I used to have an old-style PS2 with Swap Magic 3.6 and the slide tool, and everything worked great.

Just got a new slimline one for xmas (the other one died), and I can load Swap Magic OK - but the loader menu is very grainy and absolutely terrible quality, I've also been struggling with the magic keys 2 (got them to work but they keep coming out of place every time I flip the lid) and if I get a game to load in Swap Magic, the picture quality in that is terrible as well.

Has this happened to anyone else with a Slimline PS2?

I can play normal (non-backup) games and the quality is great.

Just wondering if it's a Sony-based copy protection system???

    Thanks for your help

No, it's not ... I have the latest v15 version 77003 and swapmagic 3.6+ and this setup works for me well. Also magickeys2 hold properly.

Alright I am just a newb but I wonder if it has anything to do with the games not being coded in your region. Again I'm not sure but just maybe you have to convert them because pal I believe refreshes at 50hz and ntsc at 60hz. Just an idea might be part of the problem not the solution but there it is anyway.
