Hey, nice to hear. Does this version work properly on my PStwo model? Whats up with the laser, ive heard people that were using swapdiscs have damaged their lasers? Do you think this will be fixed with new boot discs? Or is it a hardware based problem.

    What is your PS2 model?

None of the Swap Disks will damage the laser as it is only reading the disks as it would an original or backup.

    @ NLmarshal:

I think u heard wrong. Its the matrix infity that can cause damage to the lasers but now they also released a fix for that, so unless u use the swapmagics the wrong way, nothing will happen to your laser

I think it was something on the new slimline model like mine. Sony made a boobytrap for if u covered the switches (that are made to detect when ur tray is open) so the laser will burn or something like that.

i think there are other threads on this site explaining how to use the swap magic software with the slim line PS2.

you need to modify the tray catch.

So what are people talking about when they say that the slimline ps2 is booby-trapped and it can damage the laser when the slim tool is used ? Even in this forum people are saying that.

from what i have heard they are saying that they opened the ps2 and put superglue on that switch under the hinge, that messed it up for them i don't know if it is the disks or what.
