    Is it ok to swap memory sticks whilst the psp is still turned on (assuming the ms access light isn't lit or flashing), or is it better practice to switch right off?

    I've been hot swapping without any adverse affects, but started to get concerned about corrupting data or worse?

    Hmm - that's what I thought the answer would be.

    Shame - imagine if you had to shut down your pc to remove a flash drive or cd? It would be good if the psp had a "safely remove hardware" feature like windows.

    I got two 4gig cards instead of a single 8 gig (it was a good deal)and put games on one and films on the other - I guess I'll be shutting down from now on before swapping over - better safe than sorry ;0}

    Can't say i've ever switched off mine before changing memory cards, but yes, technically it is safer to switch off first, though, unless the card is being accessed, i don't see how any data could become corrupt.
