I think that you are leaving out a lot of information. First, did the system restore work?

Second, why did you do the system restore in the first place?

Three, system restore does not remove filed from your hard drive, with the exception of registry entries.

Four, depending on why you did the system restore, you can go to system restore and undo the last restore, which will put you back to where you could access your files previously.

1 Yes the system restore worked.
2.I did the system restore because i turned my computer off incorrectly{twice i hit the power switch} and when i went to start it up, it would go to the windows XP screen and keep resetting over and over again.
I hope i answered all your questions fully. So whats the trick to getting my pics and mp3's back if possible? I just know the basics about computers so bare with me lol . Thank You

You could try the last sentence in my last post, but I have my doubts that it will let your restore to that point.

Did you have the files in a folder OUTSIDE of Documents and Settings?

You may have corrupted the files when you improperly turned off the computer. I don't know.
