Taking subtitles out of downloaded avi file

    Hi guys, need some help to take the subtitles out of an ave file that i have downloaded. Not sure how to go about it

    Hard coded subs can be difficult to remove.
    If they are in the black box portion at the bottom, it's fairly easy.
    If they're embedded into the picture portion, it's almost impossible.

    For subs that appear below video, in the black box:
    Open the video in virtualdub.
    Select Video, filters, add, Null Transform, OK.
    Click Cropping.
    Crop the black borders off the video, and frameserve it to your encoder (for mpeg-2 to dvd), or re-encode to avi.

    For subs that appear in the picture portion:
    You can try an assortment of filters.
    Regionremove, Delogo, logoaway, etc.
    Download and install the filters to virtualdub/plugins folder.
    Open the video in virtualdub, and apply the filter.
    Try with different ones, until you get the best possible picture.
    Crop the video as above.
    Frameserve or save as above.
