What speed rating are those TDK's packaged with? Can I ask what you mean when you said that the tops damage easily? How? Thanks.
I have many different Cd's I could give the CD info for them in this page but I don't know how/if it would help users by just giving the CD-R info without being able to show a picture of the disc. I have a few of these TDK's (Burnt & stored at diffrent times) that at the silver line in the middle have something that looks like a burn mark which goes through to the data side. I nor anyone ells has damaged them so I don't know how this happened.
Link to cdr-forum.de is a great way to provide readers with pictures. Are your TDKs illustrated here: http://www.cdr-forum.de/showatip.php?ID=912 ? Coating varies from brand to brand, even though the media might be the same. Interesting news that you find TDK's undurable, since my experience has been the opposite (but handle discs very carefully, so they are not really 'tested').
Gave one of these CDs to a friend who put it on his boat. After a week it looked like it had something growing between the coating and the polycarbonate. Probably moisture getting in there. First time I saw that as I keep a bunch of them on my boat. No problems after months and months.
