Hi all I am looking for a utility to help browse the Security Log of the Event Viewer on a Windows Terminal Server. What I would like to see, is something like: Who has been logged on to the server during a given period (say a day/week/month)? Possibility to view logon periods for a single user (like logon time / logoff time) When doing a manual browsing thru the Event Viewer, I am often overloaded by all the information. I am thinking that there must be a great little utility out there that can help me find this information. I don't have the budget for a big, massive tool with a bunch of features that I probably don't need. However, the solution don't have to be freeware. Any help appreciated. im not sure what kinda logs you are looking for. i am admin of a gaming league but the site was already set it up i'm just admin and i can view the league logs after logging in which shows stuff like members logged in time,ip number ,new members joining,email addresses,admin changes,staff changes. i also know routers have a router log on them in your router settings but i cant make sense of it. websites can have cookie trackers added to show who's viewed the page and when. I can't make sense of windows event logs usually they have a error code if something did happen.
without knowing what these logs even look like.. wouldn't go near a windoze server if you paid me.. honest..) a logical method springs to mind.. most log files are text files.. so why not use a word/term search feature like firefox and various word processing things have? .. thinking out loud..
