I recently bought "The Box" and in the supplied user guide, in the setup section, there is a picture of the back of the unit showing an aerial in, TV out, cable in and cable out but when I physically check the unit there is no cable in or cable out; just an aerial in & tv out.

I have searched the net to show how to spot a clone but in all the pics I see, the clone and the box both have cable in and out.

Has anyone else got a version of "the box" with no cable in & out?

    Have I a clone?

I also forgot to mention that the code to enable the emu is not 1570 as I've seen in many posts.
    As far as I remember, it's 2006 or 2007.

I don't have the box pvr.

Apart from a problem where it seems to display the wrong date and time,it works fine.

How can I check for sure that I have the firmware for the box pvr?

If I do have the box pvr firmware installed, should I remove the firmware and re-install the correct firmware?

Press menu and system info and post what it says. You can fix your time and date in time settings.

I regulary have to change the time and date in settings. 50% of the time I have to switch the power off to reset the date & time.

4.51 is the correct firmware for THE B0X in the UK

    For time settings

    Menu > User Setup >
    Time Zone GMT +00.00
Current Time > Set the time and then change to AUTO
    Summertime OFF

Press OK and exit back to viewing

Is there a definitive guide to flashing the firmware on the box?
Where will I get my hands on Api Ver 4.50?

All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.

You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link.

You will need version 4.50 firmware for THE B0X found in "THE B0X" firmware folder.

    Updating Firmware

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
then Download completed message on your PC.
Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot

Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV
