    what's the difference between dvd based games and regular ps2 games, the color on the bottom?

    What do you mean, what's the difference? When the bottom of the cd is kind of blueish, it's a CD. When it's silver/gray it's a DVD. There's nothin else to it. There are no REGULAR ps2 games. All there is, is games on DVD and CD.

    why do they make it on two different formats(dvd or cd) why don't they just make one

    Simply because for some games they need more space than 700mb.
