hi there. i'm very new to digital video editing so please forgive me if this is a dumb question.

i merged two mpeg2 files (captured from the same vhs tape) using the merge tool in tmpgen. the result was a file that played fine (seamlessly merged) with one little hitch: there was NO SOUND! what am i doing wrong?

    many thanks,

    nick

If you go to the tmpgenc site it will warn you about merging mpeg2(not mpeg) files that are encoded vbr. Did you encode vbr and not cbr??. If so, check out the tmpgenc site.
