tmpgenc: Micrsoft visual c++ runtime error

    i have been havng this problem with tmpgen here latley . Only when trying to ncode certain movies i get this microsoft visual c++ runtime environment error and tmpgenc closes. Have tried everything i can to fix this and have gotten no resolution from many different forums. Someone have a suggestion??

    This probably isnt the answer but worth a shot.

    check in the properties if the read only box is unchecked

    If you are encoding from avi to vcd/svcd, then click option - environmental setting. Cliak the vfapi plug-in tab and right click DirectShow FileReader and raise its priority to 2! If it doesnt work, put the priority back!

    What might have happened is something was installed incorrectly and left some files corrupted. You can download the files though from

    http://www.indigorose.com/download/runtime/visualc60sp4_rts.exe

    try install it. If it doesnt install or does and still doesnt work, then we'll look at more possibilitys!
