   I'm trying to convert avi movies to mpeg-2. The original file has the picture at a size of 400x240, but since mpeg-2 can only be sized at 480x480, it either stretches the picture or shrinks it when i play it on the dvd player. please help with this. any additional setting recommendations to make the picture really good quality, like dvd, would be appreciative.

   if it stretches the picture, then click settings and click the advanced tab. Change video arrange method to "Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio)".
