Greetings all! A friend of mine suggested I sign up here because I am having some... issues. The "smash your computer" kind of issues. I am making a video project for a school assignment. I just purchased a new Dell computer and used Windows movie maker (it was all I had) to edit the clips together, add transitions, titles/credits etc. The computer came with a basic Roxio package for burning but would not allow me to create chapters (the video is almost 27 minutes) so I got the trial Nero. I saved the video in Windows Movie Maker as a Windows Media Audio/Video file. I import it into Nero as a whole file and then added chapters. I just downloaded the trial version of Nero Version 184.108.40.206. I imported the video and made all the chapter additions I wanted, with images etc. so it LOOKS like what I want. Thus far all is well. Then I try and burn it... and that's where the problems begin (and end apparently)... as I don't have a clue what the hell I'm doing. I am using Maxwell DVD-R discs. that I open and drop the fresh-out-of-the-package DVD into the burner (do I need to format them or anything??). When I hit burn it says "Creating menu's and transcoding streams" and then below that "burning the project onto the disc" But the problems begin near the end... I don't hear the burner making the noises it should... and then the burner pops the disc out and says "Sorry, your completion cannot be written on this type of disc. Please insert a disc of the correct type or modify the settings of your compilation to make them compatible with the current disc." Now I have used these discs to burn some individual video clips to them... but I've never tried it when making a DVD with menu's and such. Just the individual files to replay on my computer. ... so... does that make a lick of sense? LOL Any help would be appreciated guys and gals. Thanks from a desperate man!
