I have a file encoded with Divx5 that I downloaded from the internet and I'm trying to convert it to mpeg to burn to a DVD. The file plays fine in Windows Media Player and VLC, but whenever I open it in Virtualdub or Virtualdubmod the image is distorted; the same thing happens when trying to convert to mpeg in tmpgenc. Has anyone run into similar problems? Any ideas what my problems are?

No. What happened to me were audio problems. You can try to select a range with V.D., but I'm afraid this is a fixed problem of that file.
