depends which way u want to go, u could by a cross-over network cable, and hook it up if you have a network cable in both.

Like wdowsing said....easiest thing is to buy a crossover cable. Providing of course both your main PC and laptop have network cards.

How do you connect to the internet? If its cable/dsl/adsl then you may be aswell buying a small router...cheap enough nowadays. then just plugin to a shared internet connection and home network as and when you need to. You then access your tower pc from your laptop through windows explorer, and vice versa.

Folder permissions will have to set to allow content sharing over the network. Also firewalls if you have them (and you should) will also have to be configured to allow access to the ip addresses of your two computers...again this is easier to manage with a router as DHCP on the router will asign predictable IP addresses to your local machines.

    Taz out
