to make my problem a bit clearer:

i put the iso in the root folder ISO, meaning i put it in:
    root:/ISO

the iso DOES show up on the XMB. i go over to game, and down to memory stick, and the portable ops background, video, music and words show and play. when i enter, it does the PSP thing, and just goes to black screen. i can press home and say i want to quit the game, but it gets stuck saying "please wait," so the only way i can turn off my psp is by taking out the battery (holding the power button doesnt even work).

EDIT: actually, i can press home and quit out. but regardless, the iso's still dont run. i tried with grand theft auto VCS and the same thing happens.

Deactivate No-UMD. For 3.02 OE Dark Alex wrote it doesn't work and we didn't get any info if it works on 3.03 OE. So put a Game or the Demo UMD into the drive, deactivate No-UMD and try again.

I had that problem too. It turned out when I bought the game there's just a black screen on startup for a while. I was really disappointed... :(

I've got the exact same problem as twyphoon. I've got MGS:portOps as a CSO file, and an UMD rip of GTA:VCS. Neither work, all I get is the black screen of death after "PSP". Pressing home doesn't work, it does indeed get stuck at 'Please Wait', but you don't have to take the battery out actually, just press the Power key for something like 5 seconds and it should power off.

Anyway - so does anyone know if these games do require an UMD in drive? I'm running cfw 3.03-OE-C on a TA-082 PSP.

I'd expect that if you're getting these problems you should try it just to see.

    @ Wyclef
Next time try reading the solution to the problem, instead of just the problem. (scroll up)
He said to deactivate no-UMD and put in a UMD.
    Good Luck!

Uh, yeah I can read. I was just asking is it a confirmed fact that these games in question require an UMD in drive. And the reason I asked, is because I don't own a single one...so I would know if I should go and rent/buy one.

Yes, it is confirmed. Twyphoon already posted back saying that these said games do require a UMD to be emulated. I was not trying to be a jerk, just trying to answer your question. Sorry for the ambiguity.
Hope you get it working. :)
Sorry for looking like an ass-hole, I didn't mean to.
    Good Luck!

I was just trying to answer his question, I didn't mean to look like I was flaming. I'm sorry if it came across that way. Sorry Wyclef, I didn't mean to look like an ass-hole. Hope you get it working! :)
