When I try to burn my .avi files to DVD using Toast 7, I lose some of the quality. The .avis are near DVD quality when I watch them on my computer, but look more pixelated when burned. Am I using wrong settings?

first, how big is the avi file? if compression is required when you put to disc, this could cause pixelation... also remember things always looks better on a smaller viewing surface, I'm not sure if you are noticing the pixelation when you watch on a tv or your same monitor you watched the original file on, but its possible. My guess would be compression though.

the files are usually around 600-800Mb, but when I burn to a 4.8G DVD, it takes up almost the whole disc. I'm watching it on the same monitor so I don't think that's the problem. Any ideas on keeping the same quality?
