I have had my 250 GB external hard drive form Western Digital (its a mybook) for over 6 months now and lately it has been acting up on me. Lately my copmuter has not been able to recognize it and when it does it rarell works properly. If i try to search anything inside my hard drive my explorer.exe crashes and i cannot run this process again through task manager without my computer freezing. Has anyone had the same problem and/or know how to fix the problem i am having????

you don't really "fix" hard drives...they die and you replace them.

it should still be under warranty.

let me add: try the external on another computer. that will help you locate the source of the problem.
