I tryed to burn SVCD with nero 6, and i couldnt... the follwing msg appears:

    ----------------------------------------

The file C:\xxxx.mpg is not a valid file for creating a standard super video CD disc.
A compliant video file requires the following specifications:

MPEG-2 which was encoded for super video CD:
    audio: 44.1 kHz MPEG-1/2, layer 2;
    stereo/dual-channel/multi-channel
video: 480x480 at 29.97 Hz or 480x576 at 25 Hz

    The following problems were found:

    - stream encoding which is invalid for a [super] video cd

How would you like to continue ?

turn off standard compliance and continue

Re-encode the video file (unsupported file format)

    Cancel

    ---------------------------------------

I tried encode with templates of TMPGEnc wizard can't open file error: "can not open, or unsupported" what i'm gonna to do?

    HELP !!

I downloaded from e-donkey, LOTR in SVCD, and i used winiso to open it, (cause it was at bin file). And then, i tryed to burn it at nero using svcd.

If it was a bin/cue image, you are supposed to burn is as an image - In nero 6, click recorder - burn image and in older versions click file - burn image (i think) then search for the cue file!

and then i tryed to burn... not luck :/

So, i thought may be was subtitles, and then i tryed with original file (700 mb) and same error...

    Try this

    1. Get TMPGEnc.
    2. Click file - Mpeg Tools.
    3. Click Multiplex Tab.
    4. Click browse beside Video Source and locate the file u extracted, that should automatically load the audio source aswell.
    5. Make sure the output filename is different from the input.
    6. Change Video of Type to MPEG-2 Super VideoCD.
    7. Click Run

Now you can try the file you get with nero but I have to say, you'd be better off using VCDEasy, its far better for SVCD IMO and u can get it free!

    Dela,

    I still have problems.

Well, i tryed that u said about TMPGEnc
when i go to multiplex, it dont let me add the file... i dunno why, is just, when i click in ok, the list is still empty...

so, i skiped that step, and i went to VCDEasy, and when i try to add file, it told me that i need to multiplex my mpeg.

Do u know another program to do that? (multiplex)

Let me get this straight, the file u got, was it AVSEQ01.MPG??

    If so...

Download VCDEasy, click tools and click Mpeg tools, then at the end of the program u should see CDXA2MPEG. In the dat field, load in the AVSEQ01.MPG file that u extracted, and in the mpg field, choose somewhere to save the mpeg file and then click convert.

This will remove riff headers from the file. I suggest you burn it with VCDEasy but u can also try the method i mentioned with TMPGEnc!

    error:

unknown chunk id [] encountered (the file isnt MPEG with header RIFF [file .dat])

    :(

and i cant burn with VCDEasy, cause, 1 - need to register it for files bigger than 400 mb
    2 - it's say me that i need multiplex the file 1st...

    @Dela

AVESEQ01 is multiplexed, if created by dvd2svcd. Is it possible, that sound format is illegal? eg. mpeg5.1 for SVCD?

When i burn original .BIN with Nero, i can watch the movie without problem... (but obviously without subtitles)

buut !, when i descompress the .bin, using winISO, and then, try to burn same directory structure, it dont let me, cause appears the error that i said (stream encoding which is invalid for a [super] video cd)

too weird isnt ?, why do i did that? cause, i want the mpg for add subtitles... and later, burn into cd with subtitles. I tried to convert to BIN and ISO, but not luck... same error...

Can u understand me? sorry for my poor english.

When i watch the original bin burned at tv, i see that is in widescreen, i think it's at 16:9, sounds weird for me, i mean... NSTC and PAL isnt that ratio. So, im very confused about wich format/encode that it SVCD has.

Well I think there can be something with the decompress process. PLS try daemon tools and try the mpg file with that.

When you were adding the subtitles, did you like make a full re-encode of the movie? if so, what did you use to make the re-encode? and it will annoy you to know u can add selective subtitles to SVCD! lol

Manngo, thats right, that was the error.

i dont recomend use winISO to descompress the bin file (when there's a SVCD inside)
i strongly recommend to do that with ISObuster, and if u wanna see if u descompress it right, watch it in the computer using winDVD (note: if u'll add subtitles, u wont see them using winDVD, u've to try that at TV).

    Dela, dont worry anymore!!!

i found the error, it was cause i used winiso to "descompress" the .BIN, so i descompress with ISObuster, and it's working now, i added subtitles without problems, at 29,97 fps.

thanks a lot 4 yr time and preocupation. :) :)
