Ok, I will admit it, copying a Double Layered Movie is beyond my abilities

not that they are all that much anyways, but....

I have tried Shrink (It dies after a few seconds of trying to read the DVD)

I have copied the movie to HD with Decryptor and Smart Ripper, so i have the files on HD, but every time I try to copy them to a 4.7GB DL DVD+R, it fails after copying 26 chapters, leaviong the last 15 minutes of the move gone

    HELP!!!!

Run AnyDVD in the background then use DVD Shrink. It should work.

You need to compress it with Shrink so it will fit on a 4.7G disc.

Download the latest trial version of AnyDVD. Run that in the background.

Get latest DVD Decrypter. Rip the disc in FILE mode. Make sure you specify that the last folder, of where ever you choose to dump it to, it labeled "VIDEO_TS".

Get DVD Shrink. (all of these are freeware BTW) Run it, and click "Open Files" then find the VIDEO_TS folder where you dumped the movie, and open it. Shrink should perform initial analysis of the files.

The following is optional. I use Deep Analysis along with AEC (adaptive error compensation) when I use Shrink. It takes longer but the quality is better.

Now, after you've run the disc through Decrypter, and you start compressing it with Shrink, if you see the "Running man in the green shorts" [bold] DO NOT FRET.[/bold] Let Shrink continue it's process. Until you get to about 10% or so, you will see the Green shorts guy over and over, as if Shrink is stuck in a loop. [bold] It is not stuck.[/bold] Once it gets to about 10% or so it should pick up the movie and compress it as normal. Then just burn it to your disc.

I followed the above steps and had no trouble backing the Bourne Supremacy up. Cheers! :)

The problem is that whenever I try to use Shrinnk on it, shrinnk starts to analyize the dvd and then it shuts down the program so shrink will not go through the analyze portion

Allright, I was finally able to use shrink to get the info on the HD for the movie
( i didnt notice in the settings for Shrink, you can tell it a dvd9 was being copied, duh!!)

I dont understand what you mean by using decryptor on the disk, you mean the blank dvd+R DL?, or the main movie? I have the info on the HD, why would decryptor be needed on the main movie DVD?

Now that I have the movie info on the HD, how do I get the info copied onto my DVD+R DL?

    thanks for the assistance

Can you explain the procedure you use where you use both decryptor and shrink to copy the files onto the HD and then which program you use to get those files onto the end product DVD+R?

    thanks

Let's get something clarified. Exactly what kind of media are using to burn to? Are you using double layer, or single layer?? Single layer are the DVD-5 and hold approx 4.7g of data.

A double layer disc is the DVD-9, and holds aprrox 8.5 g of data.

I doubt you are using DL, they are still way to expensive. About $30US for a 3pk. You might be, but I doubt it.

    Also...
This setting in Shrink for DVD5 or DVD9 [bold]IS NOT FOR THE DISC BEING COPIED. It is for the disc YOU ARE BURNING TO, ONLY.[bold]
