I've installed modchips before, but for some reason I cannot figure out how to softmod. I tried to softmod using hotswap with xbhdm. I made a boot cd for my pc following step by step switching the ide cables and when itgets to the part where it tries to detect the hd it says no drive detected (primary master)I know alot about computers but I cant figure this one out. Any help would be great. I tried the hot swap about 20 diferent times.
Is it a original xbox hd? If so, it will need to be unlocked. If you are trying to softmod your xbox try the UDE memory card exploit. Much easier and you do not have to take the hd out. All you need is Splinter Cell, MechAssault, or 007 James Bond and a memory card.
Yeah it is a original xbox hd. I'd rather do the hot swap, to me that seems easier. How do you unlock the hd ?? If I had a non-xbox hd how would I go about doing it ?
