ok can anyone help, a realative of mie has brought a dvd recorder for her tv, and has recorded programs onto dvd, however when she puts the dvds in her pc (which supports dvd playback ie dvd drive, power drvd software etc) it wount play???

is this due to the fact the dvd recorder writes the data diffrently onto the dvd in its drive ( ie not standard AUDIO_TS, VIDEO_TS files) thus making it so only the recorder can read the data???

    or am i missing something???

Have you finalized the disc before removing it from the recorder? With mine it won't play anywhere else unless I finalize it first.

gah dont know, its a relative thast got the issue, so you have to finailize it first?? can this be done at a later date?? as in can you remove the dvd, put it back in and tell it to finalize??? or does it have to be done in one go?? as in burn-finalize-remove ???

    thanks for responding
