two folders just appeared

    hi folks,i just noticed i have got two folders named "recycler" and "system volume information" any advice grateful

    Recycler and System Volume Information are protected/hidden folders that show up when you go to Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View tab and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".

    The Recycler folders are on each drive (if more than one) containing information on deleted files.

    The System Volume Information folder works in conjunction with the System Restore function allowing you to "rollback" the system.

    None other than someone had to have changed the settings.
