I recently disconnected then reconnected my external hard drive. Before I did that its drive letter was L, now it appears to be K which is the same letter assigned to my secondary internal hard drive. How is this possible and can I change the drive letter of the external drive back to L?

Seem to have heard of this if there is a Dynamic (as opposed to Basic) drive.
Look and see using Disk Management.

    Clipboard01.

I have solved the problem and made the drive letter for the external hard drive L However in My Computer, while Drive L is now shown, Drive K appears twice with apparently the same folders and files in each. I don't have a dynamic drive.
