    folks
i have a ps2 from uk which is a 240v job - will it work in canada if i just plug it in - i.e. is there a transformer inside the ps2 to change the voltage (like a phone charger)to 110, or do i have to buy a separate step-up transformer? The guy in the sony shop said that it should work straight away, but i am not so sure.
cheers in advance for any advice

I doubt that it will run on a 110V outlet but you can try it, as long as the voltage isn't higher than 240V (I thought it was 220 in the UK). It won't damage your PS2 it just won't turn on. IF that doesn't work than you need the convertor. I think it's something different for UK-Canada/US though because I know it's easy to get the voltage lower but I think it's kind of hard to get it higher.

cheers mate - bought the power converter, so it powers up fine, however the tv is ntsc only, so just a flickering picture.
next thing to do is get a pal/ntsc converter.
should have just cut my losses and bought a canadian ps2 methinks!
