unable to connect sagem dbox 2 to network

    have tried searching forum for answer. gettin unable to connect message when trying to test network, connected thru router. basically want to watch, view, listen to files stored on network? Please help someone!!!!!!!!!

    How is your router assigning the dbox
    an ip address - is it via dhcp?

    To get the dbox ip :

    presss dbox button
    then settings
    then network
    then show active network settings

    Note the ip address - this is the ip of your dbox.

    stick http://ip_of_your_dbox into a browser and
    see if a page comes up.
    if this works then get back to me and i'll proceed from there

    if not , try to ping the dbox via your pc:

    On your pc(i'm assuming windows) Go
    Start > run and type "cmd" (without quotes)
    hit return and when the prompt comes up type the following

    ping the_ip_of_your_dbox

    hit return and see if you get any errors


    To record stuff onto your hard drive you are going to need some extra software - likewise to stream to your dbox.
    but first you need to be sure the dbox is connected to the network.

    hi adm1, thanx for reply. typed in ip and i've got a page. using netgear wgt624 v2 router, and its showing orange light on the port that dbox connected to if that helps????
