    When i run a security scan from the symantec website, i get this
    Understanding your results:
    An open port ..........
    A closed port .........
    A Stealth port..........

    But i don't understand how to change the ports that are a problem. These are (all currently open ports)
    Ping
    Telnet
    HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)

    And closed port
    FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

    And in the Trogan Horse check it shows all kinds of stuff closed, with one open. (most are stealth)

    Can you please tell me if i need to close any of these ports? and how? should i worry? Please keep it simple. Sorry for the long question

    Stealth = the best case.... its there, you can send stuff through it but theoretically nobody outside of you even knows it exists let alone whether it is open or closed

    Closed = second best case, people can tell the port is there but cant access it

    Open = well... self-explainatory. :)

    Whether or not certain ports are good open/closed/stealthed depends on what you are doing and how paranoid you are (or should be)

    As far as the Symantec scan goes, dont worry yourself too much :)
