My Daughter has a Panasonic camcorder that has suddenly died and is too expensive to fix. This camcorder records to a 1.4 GB dvd-r disc. The problem is that she did not realize that these discs have to be finalized in order to play them on a home dvd player. Now she has quite a few discs with valuable footage of our granchildren that can not be viewed. My question is.... Is there any way to retrieve this footage from an unfinalized disc? Someone said that it might be possible to finalize these on my PC but after much searching I found nothing on google to help solve this problem. Would any other camcorder be able to finalize be it panasonic or other brands?
