I backed up important files on DVD using Nero before erasing drive. All disks read fine but this one. All files are visible, but I can't copy or open any of the files. It would be great if there were a way to recover the files from this dvd. Thanks for your help.

Have you tried to just rip what's on the DVD to your HDD instead of trying to do a direct disk to disk copy?

Try cleaning the disk with a nonabrasive solution like eyeglass cleaner. Wipe from the center toward the edge and not in circles around the disk.

Try a different drive for reading. Some drives are much better readers than others; some are more forgiving and can recover better from read errors.

You could also try ISOBuster; http://www.isobuster.com

Did you burn your files as data using Burning ROM? Do you have another drive or PC that you could try rereading the data on the disc with or maybe even another program such as Imgburn in "read" mode.
