I have an NEC 2500AD drive, and I don't think that's going to get me all that far, as I don't think this drive can booktype. I'm guessing that normally updating firmware is quite easy, but since this drive is the AD version (it came with the computer) I have to crossflash it to a version that can be regularly updated....I think.

Okay first off, I know what firmware I need to download. (2100@2500 patch found here:http://tdb.rpc1.org/#ND2100A)

Then I need to install it. Simple enough. But when I run the .EXE, I get some kind of MS-DOS error and I can't update it. Any help?

list the exact model number of the drive you have.

that is a great place to find firmware.

I've looked there, but they only have firmware for 2100A-will it work for 2100AD?

And we already told you, the best answer will come if you ask for this information on the right forum.
