As the title says, I'm in the process of updating to 2.0 but am currently running 1.9. Should I flash my drive(it's a BenQ) back to stock and THEN flash to 2.0? If so, how do I flash it back to stock? And yes, I do have my original stock .bin.
BTW, when I "read" my drive and save the bin, I see all zeros in the source DVD Key window.

It is recommended that you flash to stock before doing any system update. Updating to 2.0 alone does not require you to flash to stock, but if you want the newest dash version then you should flash to stock then update then flash to 2.0

    to flash to stock:
assuming you have a dashboard newer than 13141 -

load your "dummy.bin"(your original stock firmware .bin) as the source and say no to autoloading firmware, then load "orig-04421C-A020.bin" as the target(found in- stock firmware/BenQ/BenQ_Post_13141), spoof target as source, erase, write, outro.

if your dash is older than 13141 use the stock firmware for your drive in the BenQ_Pre_13141 folder

All zeros is not a key. If you have the OFW it will have real data in the window. you will need to redump your FW.

I have the newest dash update. But I did do the update without flashing my drive back to stock. Will that cause me problems? I will try what you recommended tho and see if that works. Seeing as I have the newest dash, I should use the "newer than 13141" bin, correct? After I do all this, then my drive is ready to be flashed with 2.0?

I've done as you said gnoby but when I load the A020.bin into the target, the "Spoof Source to Target" button does appear- it is still "grayed out". Any ideas what's wrong? I have looked thru the stock firmware folders and there is a bin in the pre_13141 folder that matches exactly what my stock firmware reads in all the source windows(rev and DVD key). Should I use that bin? Or actually, couldn't I just open my original, stock bin as the target firmware and just write that to my drive?

No. If you've updated your dashboard, then your drive has been flashed with a new stock firmware and the pre-13141 firmware no longer applies.

No, for the same reason as above.

If you zip up your dumped firmware files and upload them somewhere, then PM me the link, I'll see if I can sort it out for you.

Hmm, ok. But as I said, when I load the bin gnoby suggested into my target window, the "spoof" button does not become active.

I guess you can disregard my previous post. I clicked on manual spoof and copied my drive key and it now shows up in the target drive key window. Is this correct? If so, I will go ahead and flash using that firmware, right?

As long as the target firmware is correct (so if you're on the latest dashboard version it should be the post-13141 BenQ firmware, NOT the pre-13141) and you've copied the key over correctly, you're good to go.

Ok, cool. I don't need to be seeing anything in the Target windows under "vendor" or "model", "ver" or "firmware type"?

I don't believe so. If the firmware is correct and contains the correct key, you're fine.

Dang, now I get a "No firmware is loaded to target" error when I go to write.
Another question- when we say "stock" firmware, we're talking about the very first ORIGINAL bin that I dumped the very first time I flashed my drive, correct?

Ok, apparently all my problems were caused by me using JF 1.78 instead of the newest 1.89! I used 1.89 and everything went smooth as it possibly could. Just connected my box and COD: Black Ops is working and everything! Thanks for ALL of the help everyone!
