I AM NEW TO THIS WHOLE PROCESS AND I AM TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. LAST NIGHT I DOWNLOADED DECRYPTER AND SHRINK, SO I RIPPED THE DVD AND THEN WHEN I TRIED TO PULL UP THE MOVIE WHEN U HIT THE OPEN FILES BUTTON ON SHRINK WHEN I DO LOCATE THE MOVIE AND HIT OPEN AND ERROR MESSAGE POP UP SAYING IT CANNOT OPEN AND LOCATE THE FILE SO AM I NOT RIPPING IT TO THE RIGHT PLACE OR WHAT BECAUSE I TRIED TO USE SHRINK TO RIP THE MOVIE THE FORGOTTEN AND IT WOULDNT. SO DO I USE THE FIRST PART OF THE GUIDE WITH DVD2ONE, DO I USE THE PART WHERE IT TELLS U TO RIP W/DECRYPTER AND THEN USE SHRINK I AM SO FFRUSTRATED. THANKS

Please don't type in all capital letters.

    Forum rules!! http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487

You are trying to open the file(s) in DVD Shrink using a method different than the way you ripped them with DVD Decrypter.

    Method 1. Recommended.
Rip with DVD Decrypter in File Mode.
    DVD Decrypter > Mode > File F
    Then.
    DVD Shrink > Open Files

Method 2. Not recommended but it depends on the DVD.
Rip with DVD Decrypter in ISO Mode.
    DVD Decrypter > Mode > ISO > Read R
    Then.
DVD Shrink > File > Open Disc Image > .mds file

Method 2 is more likely to cause out of memory errors, CRC and other errors in DVD Shrink because of DVD's that have multiple angles or both wide and full screen versions.

If you have already ripped a DVD in ISO mode with DVD Decrypter using method 2, continue with that method.
DVD Shrink > File > Open Disc Image > .mds file
    Unless you get an error.

Here is a Guide to Backup The Forgotten.

What I would do differently is the first part. I would suggest if you are just starting to Backup this movie to start by ripping in File Mode like it shows above, rather than ISO Mode like it shows in this Guide. Of course if you already have ripped in ISO Mode you should continue as it says in the Guide and above.

Also, if you want more of the of the Extras and Unreferenced Material, you will need to find the "Running Boy(man)in green shorts flipping the bird, Bouncing Billy (Billy Elliot)" videos. I think that name covers it all. And set those videos only to Still Image.
