so, some people on the forums sugested that i use DVD shrink to burn a movie onto my hard drive. I need to later open this movie with Adobe Premiere, as an AVI or MPG file, so i can edit the movie to what i want. Can i do this?

You can do most of the editing right in Shrink before you send it to the HD. Shrink will not convert to a different type file.

There are many programs to go AVI to DVD format. Not sure of any that go the other way. I'm sure there has to be something out there. It just hasn't come up in threads I post to. I'll do some checking.

Well, I typed DVD to AVI in Google search and got several pages of software. Most have trial downloads with full version prices around $25.00. Good luck.
