I was wondering if surfing the web, playing music from media player, or playing games online will affect dvd shrink? Will it mess up the analysis or encoding process during backup. Also, will any of these activities mess up the burning process while nero is burning. I want to be able to do other thing on the net while my dvd is being encoded, backed-up, and then burnt.

It is advisable to avoid multitasking while encoding and burning DVD's.

These processes are resource intenstive and running multiple programs is likely to increase errors or result in a bad rip/burn.

I have used the internet while encoding without any problems but that is as far as I would go with multitasking.

It is RECOMMENDED to do anything while ripping/burning a DVD (to minimize errors) not even looking at your pics, listen music or anything AT ALL much less get into internet, you should just back off from the PC, she will let you know when finish.
