V4 BIOS 040

    Any one know the difference in this version they said the magic v is compatible with it only how can i tell? and will cd-rw and dvd-rw work as back ups?

    The main difference with this BIOS as well as with all the others if they all use slightly different code that needs to be patched differently in order to boot backups properly. The Magic V chip is not programmed to auto-detect this version and patch it properly. The similarities between the different BIOS chips is why the Magic V "appears" to somewhat work with this bios, however, it is not perfect match and therefore not a reliable solution.

    as far as cdrw and dvdrw goes... the modchip doesn't make a diffrence what your ps2 reads, it all depends on your ps2s laser/drive.
