How do I determine a v8 or v9 ps2?
Look at the back of the Ps2 see what Model # it is. It should be something like SCPH-39001(Vr.7)tell me and I will figure it out for you Or look at the manual it says it on the bottom left corner on the front.
Thank you... My model is v7...
30001R is v8 right?...
Whats the number for v9?.. Is that the online one?..
i bought a version 9 once, it has serial in the 5000s. The dms3 chips that i bought wont work on the v9 so i had to return it. best way to determine is to look at the box, it should have the serial number on it (sticker mayber). anything less than 3900s is acceptible... good luck returning it if you already opened it.
i also noticed that the version 9 ps2 has the + sign in a yellow window on the box. It stands for the ability to read dvd +-r media. I dont know for sure but dont the other models already read dvd +-r media?
Thank you very much. That information was very helpful.
u can recognise most vp ps2 because they are either silver or black with a blue neon light
also u read the box wrong the v9 read dvd +/-rw as well as al the others.
