i was wondering, if i buy a video card(with tv out) and start putting my movies on vhs tapes will i lose a lot of quality (they say what you see on the screen is what goes on the tape) or will the vhs tapes be as good or better than a vcd, svcd, dvd?

The Quality will Be less than what you see on the Screen because the VHS Tape Just records a copy of the Video Information sent to it...
Sort of like when you hook up your VCR to your TV and Record a TV show, the recorded show on tape has a Lower Quality than what you see on TV, Plus VHS uses 25% the Resolution of a DVD or a TV Broadcast Signal so the Quality is about 25% of the Original, That is why VHS is a Thing of the Past...DVD is the way to go if you want Quality...
