VHS to MPG and Audio Video gets out of sync

I am moving some older VHS to MPG to go to DVD. I am finding that on some of the copies the Audio and video get out of sync. Is there any way to fix this or is it something I will have to live with. I have created several copies one was a direct burn to DVD, the other to MPG and both have the audio getting out of sync.

    Thanks!

I'm assuming that the mpeg from the VHS tape has not yet been authored to dvd disk.
If the audio is off by the same amount through the video, try this app (14 day trial?).
The 'Cut-Edit & Chaptering' step has an audio filter adjustment where you can insert a dely/advance and test before output begins.

    attar,

thanks for the suggestion, but when I click on the link, I get a page with nothing on it. Also, the sounds seems to start out in sync, but gets out of sync the longer the video is.

Are you recording with a PC based system or a standalone DVD recorder?

I don't have experience with any of the capture cards.
This guide is assuming that video is being dropped and gradually goes out of sync with the audio.
If you can adjust your software setting down from high to VCD quality (same as VHS) and don't multi-task or have anything else running that can steal CPU and RAM, you might do better.

There is a 'Video from other sources' forum at Afterdawn which may help.

Seems my problem was related to the VHS player. I purchased a new VHS/DVD player combo, and the out of sync issue went away.
