This just started recently......I use handbrake, procoder 3, and a couple other conversion softwares. My pc uses vista. When I try to convert any type of video file to another type (it has not mattered what type of video file it is) my pc just shuts down. Has anyone encountered this situation?

    Thanks for any advice!

Thanks for your reply. I believe I have enough ram. I did run a fan speed program on my computer and discovered it was overheating. So, until I get a new fan ordered and installed, a simple small external desk fan directed to the vents on my pc have taken care of the issue. I learn something every time I need to trouble shoot.

    Thanks again,

    Mick
