I have seen the other post but my question is this. I am trying to use lamecom.dll and lameacm.dll with VirtualDub. The install routines mentioned in the zip files work fine on WinXP(NT) but not on WinME. So what I am saying is that in VirtualDub the entries dont show up with Lame besides them. Any ideas why?

    Thanks

I'm not quite sure if WinME is identical to Win98SE Control Panel -wise, but here's how you can check if Lame is installed properly under 98:

    1) Open up control panel and multimedia
    2) Click the 'Devices' -tab
    3) Open up Audio Compression Codecs

You should see 'Lame MP3 Encoder ACM Codec' there. Doubleclick it. Click 'About'. In the window that opens up you should see a line that says 'LameCom.dll Version 3.70'. If that's not the case, you'll need to go through the installation process again. If, on the otherhand, the information _does_ show up right, I guess there's little you can do.. unfortunately..
