Viruses from bittorrent?

    This might be the frong forum to ask this, but how big is the risk to get viruses or other similiar problems by using Bittorrent? If you have any experience, please help. Thank you!

    ....been on torrent since the begining, I have never had anti-virus on my computer and have downloaded more than a few TB's of stuff.......

    not running a virus checker and not getting a virus, wether from bt or net or email, probably has more to do with luck than skill. I would recommend running as a bare minimum a free AV (avg is good) and firewall (zonealarm) as well as some sort of adware etc
    Dont know about bt but most other p2p is rotten in virus, esp. kazaa. Personally i would scan anything i download

    you sometimes get file poisoners on BT
