    Hi all,

Well, I made the terrible mistake of upgrading to Vista, never before have I seen my system run so slow, never before have I used an OS that was hardly compatible with any software BUT........ thats not really the issue, Vista is telling me that I've only got 512MB of RAM when I know for sure that I have 1Gb, which seemed fine on XP, The sticks are in same as they were before, I really havent changed a thing, but this is really really annoying the hell out of me. Any suggestions???

vista can automatically assign a certain amount of your RAM as shared graphics, even if you have a standalone graphics card. as yet, I don't know how to change it, so I have the same problem as you

According to your post XP recognized the full 1GB but Vista only 'sees' 512MB. Just to make sure a stick hasn't gone bad does your BIOS see the full 1GB? If so maybe its a "feature" in Vista? I will try and dig up some dirt on this and will report when/if I find anything.

    Peace
