I just got a new laptop that came with Vista and was attempting to speed up Vista via toying with 'services.msc' and 'msconfig.' Now after disabling/setting certain services to manual. Whenever I download something the download window is stuck for a good minute before it goes away. This did not happen prior to me messing around with the services.

The same goes for when trying to start a torrent. The window just stays there for awhile.

    Thanks for any help.

Grab all the updates you can from Windows update....it's in the start menu.

Go and see BlackViper's website on understanding Vista's services.

I have done all the updates, set everything back according to "safe" for BV and the problem still persists... any other ideas to why this is happening? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
