I have pretty much sussed video editing, but now feel I need to create(in the loose sense of the word) my own video clips to edit.

Just got hold of TRON on DVD.

Here's what I have done so far.

    1. Used Smart Ripper to decrypt VOB's to hard disk.

    2. Used DVD2AVI to create a d2v project file.

    3. Run the d2v project through VFAPI Convert to create Psuedo-AVI file.

At this point, this is where I come unstuck.

I need to get down to uncompressed format (pref AVI) to run through Premiere to edit and sequence.

When I create an AVI with either TMPGEnc or VirtualDub, it creates fine, but is very slightly jerky. Not bad all but definately noticable compared with the DVD which is fluid and smooth.

Any ideas how I can improve on the AVI output??

    XP Pro
    512Mb
    64Mb GeForce 2

Also create a wav file of the audio in step 2. Then import the wav file and the VFAPI pseudo AVI file into Premiere and drag them both onto the timeline.
