I have several DVD's of my son tap dance competitions. I went to "DVD Drive(F:)" on My Computer, right-clicked to "Explore" and pulled off the VOB file to my desktop. When I double-click the VOB file, it loads into PoverDVD player and start playing.

    My question is:
How can I separate out only a small portion of the VOB file and use it to record to my own homemade DVD+R disc? (Is demuxing involved?)

This is fun 'cos I've done this several times already:
Try use a video capture program (e.g. Nero, Image Mixer) to transform the VOB files into original video clips (probably in mpeg format). Then reorganize and edit the clips in whatever way you like. Then burn the end product back onto a disc.
