Problem voices not playing in certain players

    Since I got this new computer with win 10.1, I have had problems with several of my media players. I can hear the voices and background with VLC and Cyberlink Power DVD.
    However, I can not hear the voices (only background sounds) with Jet Audio, Windows 10 Movies & TV, Windows Media Player, Subsync, and Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre.
    Why is it, that with the latter programs, I can only hear the background sound and no voices? I would, at least. like to be able to hear the voices in subsync. It is hard to sync up the subtitles, when you can't hear the sound.
    I never had this problem with my win 7 computer.
    I have all the up to date codecs and drivers.
    Can anyone tell me what the problem could be?
    I would appreciate any help anyone could offer.

    If you right click on the speaker icon on the lower right and select playback devices then configure the speakers to match your setup does it make a diff?

    No, it makes no difference. It seems strange to me, that it plays fine on one or two, but not the rest. Especially the fact that it doesn't work correctly on the program that comes with Windows 10.

    I just updated the drivers. I can now play on windows 10 program: "windows & tv", but jet audio still doesn't work. I contacted jet audio recently and they say it has to be my computer, since my program is up to date. I want to thank you for taking time out of your day to help me.

    I don't know the software but does it have any Windows components that it might use that need updated - other Windows dependencies that were ok in Win 7 but need updated for W10?

    I don't know. I don't think so. When I contacted Jet Audio, they never mentioned anything like that. They only said it had to be my computer because there is nothing wrong with their program. I really like Jet Audio. I have used it for years (with Win. 98, XP, & 7) and had no problems until I got the new computer with windows 10

    It would have been nice if they would have told me that when I asked what the problem was?

    no problem. try running the program in compatibility mode if win 10 still has that option.

    I have done that and it doesn't work. But thanks anyway.
