I have my daughter's favorite movies. But they are pretty short. One is only about 1.2G. I want to combine three of these to one single discs (4.7G) so that I can carry it when we go on vocation. Is it possible to do that? Which software should I use? Does it take a lot of trouble?
    Thanks.

    Hello viviany. :)

This can easily be done with DVD Shrink, a free software. ;)

If you're not familiar with it, I'd suggest you view the guides at http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php

If you are, here is the one (pretty rough) for making compilations:
    http://www.dvdshrink.info/re-author-v3beta5-advanced.php

I'm in the process of making the "Compilation" guide for v3.1.x.

    You're welcome. :)

I would also like to suggest you visit and register at the official DVD Shrink forums:
    http://forum.digital-digest.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=48

You will find the members very helpful, and the atmosphere very friendly.
If not, just let me know, I'm the moderator there. ;)

Unfortunately, DVD Shrink development has stopped, but I believe the forums will be very active for a long time to come.

The first link 401'ed on me 3 times tonight. But the second was enough to show me what to do. Damn, Shrink is Great and getting better!

RWG, how long ago was it you couldn't get into DVDShrink.info?

I had to update my hosting package and the site was down for a few hours.
It was back online 20 hours ago or so though.

If it was more recently, try typing the address directly into your browser address bar.
I get some suspicious "media.fastclick.net" url appended to some links in these forums.

    ddlooping-

Just tried agan using IE 5.5 and Netscape - got 404'd (not 401) with IE and Netscape informed me to 'try again or contact the server's administrator.'

This was typing in the addy into address bar.

Second link works, 1st doesn't for me. I'm dialup in Oklahoma, USA.

    FWIW...

Thanks and sorry for the trouble, RWG.

I just realised there was a "." at the end of the url.
I edited my post and now all should be fine. ;)

I've been fartin' around with Shrink 3.1.2 - trying to make a test comilation from 2 DVDs in 2 drives and ripped DVD files.

Seems once I click on Open DVD, chose to Reauthor and select a track the 'Open DVD' and 'Open Files' are grayed out - non-operational.

Tell what I'm doing wrong. v3.0b works fine.

    thanks-

Eureka! Found the solution. Ya have to use the DVD Browser tool/window/area to navigate to the specific tracks located on disc(s) or HD.

PM me - I want "Mr. Shrink's" name - I'm going to make a token contribution to him/her for such a great program.

Oh yeah, people will be happy with this. It'll help me doing my Sopranos DVDs given to me (if only for a day or two).

Good work - easy to follow - direct & to the point.
