Hey, this is a fairly weird problem I ran into about 45 minutes ago...

I have a 6800GS 512mb video card overclocked with RivaTuner to 500/1200 (default is 425/1000), and I was playing Battlefield 2 when it was overclocked. This was on the lowest the video settings could go, at 1024/756 screen resolution. At that, I was getting about around 50 fps.

Now here's the weird thing... I close BF2 and went to the defaults on RivaTuner so the card runs at 425/1000 and started BF2 again. I changed all the settings to the highest they will go (but stayed at 1024/768) and I will now get around 30-40fps...

    This is really weird....

Can anyone explain why it is doing this?

    Thanks!

What's weird about it running slower on higher settings, surely that's to be expected?

The weird thing is that I think even when I play at 800x600, with the details all up and have the overclocked card I'm still getting around 20fps...

I would think that I would get at least 50 with the overclock and 800x600.

Btw, what will increase frames more, the core clock or the memory clock?

    Thanks

The memory clock by far. I can honestly say I'm not certain why, but it does!
